One of the reasons why Twisp is often visited is because of its outdoor recreation. Owners of Twisp real estate can visit Blue Sky Outfitters any time for exhilarating white water rafting excursions down the Methow River. These trips can be one or two days longs, and can also include wine tours. Methow Power Sports offers jet-ski rentals, and all terrain vehicle and snowmobile repair. Those who are a little less adventurous can drop by the Methow Valley Community Center, which houses the town's library, a gymnasium, and a visitor's center; art and dance classes are held here from time to time as well. The Merc Playhouse offers different productions throughout the year, ranging from plays to music concerts.

Living

Residents of Twisp are served by an active town government including a Public Works, Police Department, Building and Planning Commission, and a Fire Department. The town prides itself on maintaining a small town atmosphere, yet providing residents with all the services they need to make life here convenient for them.  The homes here are in keeping with the charm and atmosphere of the town, containing covered front porches that provide spectacular mountain views and rustic cedar or wood siding that gives them the feel of a remote cabin. There are plenty of lots overlooking the river, as well as properties with an abundance of open pasture space perfect for horse lovers.

Schools, Health, Transportation

School-aged children are served by the Methow Valley School District, which operates an elementary school, a combined junior-senior high school, independent learning center, and a home school program. The junior-senior high school also provides a number of athletic opportunities in the way of baseball, softball, track, tennis, and boys' soccer, to name a few.

Like the many other services offered to residents of Twisp, there are also several health care options here. Methow Valley Medical Clinic is a well-establish family practice clinic where people can go for routine care, while Methow Valley Physical Therapy treats those suffering from certain injuries or mobility issues. The nearest hospital is Mid-Valley Hospital, located around 37 miles away in Omak.

Getting around Twisp is fairly easy to do via automobile, on foot, or by bicycle. Twisp is also served by Gabby Cabby, which will provide residents with transportation and delivery services in Twisp, Winthrop, and other nearby areas. Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition also serves residents of Twisp, providing transportation and meals to home-bound senior citizens in the area. Twisp has its own municipal airport; however, long distance travelers are more likely to book flights from Penticon Regional Airport in Canada or the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
