About 240 miles northeast of Seattle on Highway 20, in the aspen forests of the Cascade Mountains, you will find the town of Winthrop. The population within the town limits is approximately 400, with an additional 1,500 people living in the surrounding area. The community celebrates the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, offering the cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities for which Washington is famous. Following the examples of Leavenworth, Washington with its Bavarian theme and the Danish flavor of Solvang, California, the businessmen of Winthrop agreed upon a western theme for a 1972 renovation project. As the North Cascades Highway reached completion, it brought many new visitors to enjoy this unique community.

Wenatchee Valley Clinic in Omak accepts walk-ins. Aero Methow provides nonprofit ambulance and rescue services to the Methow Valley.

Transportation services near Winthrop real estate include the ski shuttle that runs between Winthrop and Mazama, the Gabby Cabby taxi service, and the Okanogan County Transportation Network's white bus. The bus provides transportation to the senior center and the grocery store as well as monthly trips to Omak and Wenatchee. Omak City Airport does not support commercial flights, but does offer charter flights to several destinations. State Highway 20 connects Winthrop real estate to the rest of the world.
